Being successful in the United States was usually connected with living in a large metropolitan city where lots of jobs and opportunities are available.

Most foreign natives who move to the U.S. move to large cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York. Evidence from new Census data, however, shows that more native-born Americans are starting to move to the suburbs and smaller cities to work and raise their families.

The ideal small city is one with a population of between 500,000 and 1 million people. USAFIS reports, “Immigrants to the United States should consider moving to some of the smaller cities of the U.S. to find work and raise their families.”
